His chat was scrolling extremely fast with people having similar reactions. The thing that gets me, though, is that I had no idea that he even died until I saw BarbarousKing's stream last night. So not only is him getting sub hour a hugely cathartic moment as it was something he was working for, it was such an awesome moment for him to use that moment to use his very small platform to make a statement in support of trans rights.
His speedrun time was faster than Dode's in the game. Dode was excommunicated from the Kaizo Mario community as well as for trying to both sides trans rights, and the community has responded by turning their backs on him. In his pop-off of getting sub one-hour, you'll see him say 'better than Dode' a few times, follow with 'trans rights are human rights - remember that'. Getting sub one hour had been a very long-time goal for him and he finally pulled it off in June 2022. You can see the pop off around the 57:00 minute mark.
He gave the award to UGHRochester getting sub one-hour for a speedrun of BarbarousKing's first ROM hack - Grand Poo World. So last night I was watching BarbarousKing stream his annual 'Barbies' where he gives out awards for the best Super Mario ROM hacks of the year such as Celeste.smc and one the categories was 'Best Kaizo Mario Streamer Clip'.
